Sensitive information should stay sensitive
Plain language for what Sadie stores, what it doesn't, and how sign-in works. Only promises the product can keep.
What Sadie stores
Employer name, email, state, optional EIN, pay rate, schedule, and how you send pay. Employee legal name, address, filing status, withholding choice, payday contact, and payment handle — entered by the employee. Hours and calculated pay records.
What Sadie does not store
Social Security numbers. Bank account numbers. Bank logins. We never move money, so we never need access to your bank.
Employee privacy
Your employee enters their own information on a private invite. You see that they finished their part, plus the details needed to run payroll and send pay. They don't hand you a stack of tax forms to retype.
Employer privacy
Your household records stay on your account. We don't sell personal information. Your employee sees their own pay stubs — not your EIN or your whole tax picture.
How you sign in
You can create an account with email and a password, or continue with Google. If you use Google, we receive your name, email, and profile image from Google to create the Sadie session. We don't post to Google on your behalf. Sessions are stored in a signed cookie on your device.
Account recovery
Email-and-password accounts can reset a forgotten password from the sign-in page. Google accounts recover through Google. Keep access to the email address or Google account you use to sign in.
Sensitive identifiers
We don't collect SSNs. If you need an EIN, Sadie sends you to the IRS site. You type your SSN only there, never into Sadie.
Third-party systems
Google is optional for sign-in. Stripe processes Sadie subscriptions. Venmo, Zelle, and Cash App are opened or copied by you at payday — Sadie does not connect to those accounts or send payments through them.
Encryption
Traffic to Sadie uses HTTPS. We don't claim “bank-level security” or a specific compliance badge we haven't earned.
Retention and deletion
Canceling a subscription does not close the account or delete records. Closing the account is a separate admin action, with a 14-day window to reopen. How long we keep information, and what we may retain after deletion, is in the Privacy Policy.
Money movement
Sadie does not move payroll funds, does not debit your bank for wages or taxes, and does not remit taxes. When something needs to be paid or filed outside Sadie, we show you the numbers. You send the money and you file.
